Stamps for the Wounded

One way we can help our veterans is to save envelopes from the mail coming to your home. You can clip the postage stamps from the envelopes and we will donate them to Stamps for the Wounded. While many veterans are immobile, they enjoy stamp collecting and sorting. Carefully clip the envelope around the stamp. Leave at least 1/4" margin around the outer edges of the perforations of the stamp. Do not clip off the perforations; this ruins the stamp. If clipping from an envelope corner, remove the back and side flaps. Please do not try to steam, pull, or peel the stamps off the paper. Part of the fun for the veterans is doing that part! Students will receive service hours for the time they spend collecting and clipping around the stamps. Students are responsible for keeping track of their time spent. Mrs. Tucker will sign the service hours form. Deliver any collected stamps in a ziploc bag and give them to Mrs. Tucker.
