Pumpkin Patch and Not So Spooky Trail

Fairytale Farm Animal Sanctuary is a nonprofit for injured and abused farm animals in Winston Salem. They are  looking for additional youth volunteers for our Pumpkin Patch fundraiser and Not So Spooky Trail event in October. Roles include concessions, animal care, and costumed characters. Operation Inasmuch--October 29

Operation Inasmuch is helping the City of High Point on Saturday, October 29 from 8:30-3:30pm. They need volunteers to help serve High Point neighbors in need of home repairs. For more information, contact Michelle McNair at michelle.mcnair@highpointnc.gov

Assembling Luminaries September 22

 The Oak Ridge Youth Association needs volunteers are needed to help assemble newly purchased luminaries for the Light Up The Night event in December. On Thursday, September 22 from 4-7pm, volunteers will assemble the new luminaries at the Oak Ridge Town Offices on Linville Road. If you can help even for just an hour, please stop by.

Coke bottle caps

 Mrs. Tucker has some bags of Coke bottle caps that can be entered into the Coke Rewards program for service hours. Interested students should come by Mrs. Tucker's office to get instructions and a bag of bottle caps. First come first serve.

YWCA Teen Court Program

  The program takes place every other Tuesday, twice a month, at the Winston-Salem county courthouse from 5:30-7:30. They also partner with Wake Forest Law Students who help out in the courtroom. The training session for new students will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2022. It will take place in the courtroom at Wake Forest University from 11:00 am. to 2:00 pm. There will be Chick-Fil-A, juice, cookies, and other snacks provided. Interested students should email nikkif@ywcaws.org for more information and reserve a spot at the training session.    

High Point Big Sweep Litter cleanup- October 1

  Please join us for the 2022 High Point Big Sweep!   This year is the 34 th High Point Big Sweep litter cleanup event, and we will be working together to remove litter from roadways, waterways, lakes, parks, school campuses and the Greenway.   We will meet at Pinnacle Financial, located at 1585 N. University Parkway on Saturday, Oct. 1, and the event will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Krispy Kreme doughnuts are available to all volunteers in the morning, and we will also have bottled water. All cleanup supplies will be provided! All volunteers automatically earn one ticket into the prize drawing. We will once again be collecting non-perishable food items to donate to a local food pantry in High Point. Each item donated will earn the donor an additional ticket into the prize drawing to possibly win a $100 Visa gift card courtesy of Blue Ridge Companies or a $50 restaurant gift card courtesy of Leggett & Platt, Inc.
