NCLA Community Service Hours

With school starting, FCS will host it's annual Back to School Campus Clean Up on August 8th from 9-12pm!! We will be doing the following: Installing new garden beds Filling beds with dirt Picking up trash Weed Eating Pulling weeds Cleaning out rooms inside school Moving desks and several more things...  Looking for a student volunteer to paint our new rain barrel for the NCLA garden! Painter provides acrylic paint. Design must be conducive to NCLA, using mainly red white, and blue or a variation of things that represent our school. Must be painted by August 8th. (Can be taken home or painted on campus). Six student benches on the campus of Northwest High School in northwest Greensboro have rotted and need to be replaced. The PTSO is looking for individuals or groups to build and donate these simple and functional benches, suggesting it would be a great Eagle Scout project or project for community service hours.  Anyone interested in building a bench, or two – or six – is asked to email mstallings76@gmail.com.

  Mattress Sale Fundraiser NCLA FCS is hosting it's first ever mattress sale fundraiser with Mattress Warehouse of Kernersville. We need students and parents to volunteer to be there the day of the event. Holding signs, saying hello to customers, telling people about our school, etc. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU WEAR AN NCLA SHIRT, bring water and be prepared to help store staff with things that day.  Shifts are 3 hours long, please bring your service form to be signed that day. July 15, 16, 17 from 9am-2pm   We need as much help as we can get! With the renovation of 23 mobile classrooms on the campus of Northwest Guilford High School nearing completion, the school’s PTSO is seeking volunteers to help move furnishings, books and file boxes back into the classrooms. Three days have been set aside for the move-in project – Friday-Sunday, July 15-17, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day.   “This will take a lot of people to do!” the PTSO recently wrote in a newsletter to its members. “We will need teens and adults. Students will receive volunteer hours for this event. Please help us spread word of the move, as we really need as much help as we can get. This would include groups such as Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, churches, service groups (Kiwanis, Rotaries, etc.), local businesses, etc.”   Want to help?
