  NOTE: The service hours requirement CANNOT be waived.   ****PLEASE REFER TO PAGE 30 in the Student-Parent Handbook 2021-2022 for ALL details regarding the service hours requirements. Please make sure the activity is at a not-for-profit organization. Activities such as painting, babysitting, or mowing your grandfather's lawn will not apply. Job shadowing hours do not count. The following will be enforced if students do not meet the expectation of The NCLA Service Program/Requirement:   Students will not receive driving privileges on school grounds (parking or driving to/from school.) Students will not be allowed to participate in sports, school clubs, school field trips or Prom (with the exception of Civil Air Patrol.) May not be permitted to participate in Senior Awards or walk at Graduation Students may be brought before the Honor Court, which is made up of his/her peers to determine further disciplinary action. NCLA Garden Cleanup

  The Garden Team needs help tending to the Garden/Pond area this fall as we completely redo our space. We will not be planting but we will be pulling out, cleaning and cutting back bushes. Most of our times will consist of pulling weeds and we will help the school and Keep NCLA Beautiful by cleaning up trash. Bring your water, gloves (if you want), close toe-shoes and weather appropriate clothing each time you volunteer.  Make sure you bring your Service Learning form to be signed THAT DAY. Roadway Cleanup at Ivey Redmon and Philips Parks--August 17

PTFC/CCFC Youth has partnered with Keep High Point Beautiful and Kernersville Beautification to adopt Old Plank Rd in High Point and Beeson Road in Kernersville. We will be doing litter pick up at both locations on August 17th from 9-11am.  If you are a parent/guardian or player in our club (or just want to help) we encourage you to use this as an opportunity to put our motto into action and "Be More Than A Player". If you have friends outside the club that need volunteer hours, they are encouraged to come help as well.  We will provide gloves, bags, etc just bring yourself. Persons under the age of 18 must have a parent sign a liability waiver. Kids under the age of 15 must have parents stay with them to volunteer.  Students who need volunteer hours for schools or clubs are encouraged to bring papers to be signed on the day of!  Make sure to bring water and wear close-toed shoes. Mattress Sale Volunteers

 Our mattress sale is back again this year on August 10th from 10-5pm! We are looking for High School volunteers to help us out again, as well as a few parents to help chaperone and volunteer this event. A lot of fun was had last year with our students- Lunch will be served, along with plenty of snacks and waters. Students are also welcome to have lunch at one of the restaurants surrounding Mattress Warehouse with parent permission. Knock out some volunteer hours while school is out, you can volunteer for 3 hours or the entire day! Students 16 and older may be dropped off but students younger than 15, PARENTS MUST STAY WITH THEM! (please note: you do not have to sign up to stay with your child-you are required to stay, the sign up is for our parent leaders who will be on site as well). Back to School Service opportunities

Growing High Point

There is a local organization called Growing High Point. This non-profit uses donated land to grow food to give to seniors and refugees. They have several farms in the city including one orchard.
