NCLA Garden Cleanup

  The Garden Team needs help tending to the Garden/Pond area this fall as we completely redo our space. We will not be planting but we will be pulling out, cleaning and cutting back bushes. Most of our times will consist of pulling weeds and we will help the school and Keep NCLA Beautiful by cleaning up trash. Bring your water, gloves (if you want), close toe-shoes and weather appropriate clothing each time you volunteer.  Make sure you bring your Service Learning form to be signed THAT DAY. Roadway Cleanup at Ivey Redmon and Philips Parks--August 17

PTFC/CCFC Youth has partnered with Keep High Point Beautiful and Kernersville Beautification to adopt Old Plank Rd in High Point and Beeson Road in Kernersville. We will be doing litter pick up at both locations on August 17th from 9-11am.  If you are a parent/guardian or player in our club (or just want to help) we encourage you to use this as an opportunity to put our motto into action and "Be More Than A Player". If you have friends outside the club that need volunteer hours, they are encouraged to come help as well.  We will provide gloves, bags, etc just bring yourself. Persons under the age of 18 must have a parent sign a liability waiver. Kids under the age of 15 must have parents stay with them to volunteer.  Students who need volunteer hours for schools or clubs are encouraged to bring papers to be signed on the day of!  Make sure to bring water and wear close-toed shoes. Mattress Sale Volunteers

 Our mattress sale is back again this year on August 10th from 10-5pm! We are looking for High School volunteers to help us out again, as well as a few parents to help chaperone and volunteer this event. A lot of fun was had last year with our students- Lunch will be served, along with plenty of snacks and waters. Students are also welcome to have lunch at one of the restaurants surrounding Mattress Warehouse with parent permission. Knock out some volunteer hours while school is out, you can volunteer for 3 hours or the entire day! Students 16 and older may be dropped off but students younger than 15, PARENTS MUST STAY WITH THEM! (please note: you do not have to sign up to stay with your child-you are required to stay, the sign up is for our parent leaders who will be on site as well). Growing High Point

There is a local organization called Growing High Point. This non-profit uses donated land to grow food to give to seniors and refugees. They have several farms in the city including one orchard. Attention soccer players--volunteer opportunity!

  Beyond Sports, the NC Fusion Foundation, is responsible for all of the volunteers for stations at the Soccer Nights Camp July 15-18th from 6:00-8:30pm (camp starts at 6:30pm) at Smith Soccer Complex. This is an AMAZING volunteer opportunity to serve the community especially for soccer players and fusion families!   Soccer Nights is part of our community outreach programs in partnership with Kings Cross Church and an excellent chance for players to earn service hours for school, bond with teammates or serve as a family! This camp typically has over 300 kids that will come out for FREE to participate from our local community. Volunteers work in pairs to run fun stations featuring soccer skills and games for kids 5- to 13-year-old. Each station is about 10 min long and campers will rotate through the different stations each night. Kernersville Little League is hosting the North Carolina District 2 Little League (10-12) and Intermediate baseball Allstars tournaments in the next few weekends and we need YOUR help with field prep and clean up! Children's Home Society of NC--June 8

  Children’s Home Society of NC has volunteer opportunities at the Sunshine 5k & Family Festival this Saturday at Country Park. If you’re unable to volunteer, you’re welcome to register to run or show your support by attending the family festival and have your kids run the 100-yard dash (both free). Fourth of July Parade Litter Pickup--July 4

  Fourth of July Parade Litter Pick Up!   Have you ever been to a parade and noticed how messy the roads are after it is all over? Town staff work hard to clean the roads after the parade. Why not do a little during the parade? Come help the Town of Kernersville clean up during the 4th of July Parade! We will have multiple Public Services Employees walking behind our orange Litter Patrol vehicle. To participate, we have a few rules:   Please print and fill out the Volunteer Waiver form provided on the volunteer sign up page, and remember to bring it with you to the parade. Volunteers may not participate without a completed form. Participants under the age of 18 need a parent or guardian for the duration of the parade who will also need to fill out the form. Please only one guardian per family (unless necessary) to accommodate as many children as possible.    All volunteers need to meet behind Kernersville Elementary School by 8:00 AM. Town of Kernersville Litter Cleanup--June 17-June 24

  The Public Services Department is excited to provide this great opportunity to volunteer this summer. Sign up for our June 2024 Summer Litter Pick Up!   For this event, there are 3 areas where we are focusing: Gralin St, Hopkins Rd, and Teague Ln. You can pick up your supplies (safety vest, gloves, bags, pickers) at 509 Michael St. from June 17th to June 24th. Need last minute service hours for your service learning credits this year?? The Garden Team needs your help in helping to pull weeds, cut back shrubs, and make our school courtyard ready for summer time. Join us after school Thursday May 16th from 3:30-5:30 to earn your hours. HS students can come directly to the elementary courtyard after school and must be picked up promptly at 5:30 in the back of school at the spirit rock.
